This is a painting I did on a brown canvas. I would like the chance to be able to paint any of my works on a box. I used to live in Clendon and have a connection to it and I would just like to be able to share my work with the community.
This draft showS a silver fern and our New Zealand flag united by a tui bird at the center. Silver fern symbolizes light that can guide our path as Kiwis. A tui bird symbolizes the different voices of our people from different ethnic groups.
The story behind my work starts from my culture. The water and sunset and silhouettes of the palm trees represent the Cook Islands, the turtle represents my Island of Mangaia and the statue (Tangaroa) represents my cultural beliefs and family memories
