Chorus Competition Finalists

Our 2016 Chorus Cabinet Art Competition attracted some wonderful and inspirational entries from artists within our community.

These 5 artworks are now located on Chorus cabinets around South Auckland. Keep an eye out when you're driving by!

  • FINALIST FOR CLENDON
    This is a painting I did on a brown canvas. I would like the chance to be able to paint any of my works on a box. I used to live in Clendon and have a connection to it and I would just like to be able to share my work with the community.
  • FINALIST FOR TAKANINI
    This art piece is a way of starting a conversation about the environment around us. To appreciate our surroundings in the community.
  • FINALIST FOR HALF MOON BAY
    This draft showS a silver fern and our New Zealand flag united by a tui bird at the center. Silver fern symbolizes light that can guide our path as Kiwis. A tui bird symbolizes the different voices of our people from different ethnic groups.
  • FINALIST FOR FLAT BUSH
    My given design represents the people of the Flatbush community. It specifically acknowledges the Fo Guang Shan Temple which is located in the area.
  • FINALIST FOR COXHEAD ROAD MANUREWA
    The story behind my work starts from my culture.The water and sunset and silhouettes of the palm trees represent the Cook Islands, the turtle represents my Island of Mangaia and the statue (Tangaroa) represents my cultural beliefs and family memories
